Lifestyles Design Group, LLC has been very busy in its first year. It has certainly been interesting opening a new design firm in Asheville during an economic transition. Asheville was holding its own this past January when we began developing our plan for serving the design needs of this dynamic community. Now, western North Carolina is sharing/experiencing the changes brought on by the economic stresses that have become global. Lifestyles is staying strong during our first year, has made changes, also, to reflect these/our community’s changing conditions. Meeting the desires of our clients has led/directed LDG to focus more on the remodeling facet of our business. We continue to accept commissions for new construction, both residential and commercial. However, we are seeing a definite shift toward the conservative view of increasing the enjoyment we get from our living spaces by improving upon what we already have. It might be thought of as “cocooning” during this time of uncertainty. Lifestyles was visionary in adopting a philosophy of providing needed resources to support our clients’ complete design projects at a reasonable cost. Instead of having the overhead of a store front, we chose a more cost-efficient home-based studio. Our clients may make their selection conveniently in their own homes or in our comfortable studio. Being an authorized dealer for all our products is another example of our cost efficiency. Our in-house library features design selections from over 200 manufacturers, from whom we buy direct with the attendant savings. With thousands of resource materials literally at our fingertips/instantly available, we also save gas and time and pass these savings on to our clients.
